Obituary of Eddie Lee Holmes
Danbury – Mr. Eddie Lee Holmes, age 84, of Danbury, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2021 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Katie Mae (Ladson) Holmes.
Mr. Holmes was born May 26, 1936 in Bishopville, South Carolina son of the late Isaac Holmes, Sr. and the late Martha (Scarborough) Holmes. He was retired after working for many years as a machinist at Barden Corporation, was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was a board member of the Beaver Street Corporation for many years, since the 1980’s. He loved being on the phone talking to his loved ones, fishing, dancing, spending time with his family and friends and giving back to his community. He also loved watching his favorite women’s UCONN Husky College basketball team and his number one team “The New England Patriots” football team. He was a man who was loved by many and hated by none. His smile, his laugh, his crackling voice made him stand out like no other. He wore so many hats to those who knew him in the greater Danbury area as well as up and down the east coast. His heart was as gold. He loved helping those who were in need. He never turned anyone away. He was a very generous person.
