Obituary of Christopher Lincoln Slater
Christopher Lincoln Slater, age 36, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021.
Chris lived in Putnam, CT, and grew up in Brookfield, CT.
Chris passed away peacefully in his sleep. He suffered unexpected complications from a chronic health issue.
A skilled and charismatic salesman for Brescome Barton, Inc., Chris enjoyed sharing his love and expert knowledge of fine wine, beer, and spirits with co-workers, customers, friends, and family.
Chris loved the outdoors and was an avid camper and kayaker.
His greatest love was his girlfriend, Kristen Tracy, of Charlotte, NC. They shared life and adventures together that brought him true happiness and joy. Shortly before his passing, they were able to spend time together in Charlotte making cherished memories.
Chris lived his life following his own compass. He enjoyed exploring new opportunities and experiences, and meeting new and interesting people.
He leaves a legacy of loving care, kindness, and sincere friendship. He will be remembered for much—including his laughter, passion, and vitality—but most of all for his independent spirit; his generosity of soul; his ardent search for knowledge, fun, and adventure; and his undying love for his cat, Fil.
Chris was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, partner, friend, and colleague, and he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his parents Les and Sue Slater of Brookfield, CT; his twin brother Alex Slater and wife Susie Thompson, and their son Miles Buckley Thompson-Slater of Brooklyn, NY; and his brother Andrew Slater of Enfield, CT.
