Obituary of Sr. Eileen M. Eden SSND

Sister Eileen Eden, a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died at Villa Notre Dame, Wilton, Connecticut, on June 23, 2021.  She was 87 years old.

After profession of vows in 1954, Sister Eileen taught in elementary, secondary, and business schools in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In 1984 she was missioned to St. John the Evangelist School, Watertown, CT where she taught for 2 years and served as principal for 14 years.  In 2000 Sister became Pastoral Minister at St Mary’s in Norwalk, Connecticut. She was an excellent teacher and administrator, respected and loved everywhere she served.  In 2004 Sister Eileen came to Villa Notre Dame where she ministered in various ways to the Sisters.

A private wake and funeral service for the Community and Family will be held at Villa Notre Dame on Tuesday, June 29.   Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel, Connecticut.  Memorial contributions may be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Atlantic-Midwest Province, c/o Development, 345 Belden Hill Road, Wilton, CT 06897
