Obituary of Mae Lake
Mae Lake, aged 87, passed away on August 28, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born on September 21, 1933 in the Bronx, NY, to Frank and Nicolina (DiPaolo) Nigri.
Mae was an RN and even though she retired almost 25 years ago from Fairfield Hills Hospital, she renewed her nursing license every year in the event that "someone needed a per diem nurse." Mae was a nurse that anyone would have been lucky to have had taking care of them. She shared many beautiful stories over the years of how she was able to bring her patients joy and happiness, and she loved each and every one of them.
Mae was predeceased by her husband, Ross Lake and their son, Frank. She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Lake) Braunwarth and her husband, Bill of Brookfield, CT, her beautiful granddaughter, Gianna Stavola, who was the light of her life, of Bristol, CT, her brother-in-law, Cosmo Micalone and his wife Patty of White Plains, NY, her niece Maria (Micalone) Brea, and her husband Frank of Old Greenwich, CT, her nephew Cosmo Micalone, Jr and his life partner, Casandra and their son Nicholas, of Port Chester, NY, and her best friend, Rosie Mattei, of Waterbury, CT.
Mae's wishes were for there to be no services but if you would like, please make a donation in her name to the NYC ASPCA.
