Obituary of Sylvia E. Pomeroy
Sylvia E. (Rundlett) Pomeroy, 76, of New Milford, beloved wife of Charles “Chuck” Pomeroy Jr., died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, September 17th. She was born in Lewiston, ME, on December 30, 1944, daughter of the late Paul and Theda (Jones) Nyberg.
Sylvia worked alongside her loving husband for 39 years at Chuck’s Musical Instrument Repair Shop & Studios. She touched many people’s lives running the shop and music studios, renting musical equipment, and handling all the books. Along with that she always made time to watch and spend time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and any furry animals that were always welcome at her home.
In addition to her devoted husband, Chuck, she will be sadly missed by her six children, Barbara Balas, Gail Miceli (Dan), Bill Pulsifer (Rachel), Charles Pomeroy III (Ilona), Timothy Pomeroy (Jennifer), Lisa Pomeroy (Daniel Matos); her son-in-law, Ryan Balas; ten grandchildren; Michelle Gillespie, Rich Pulsifer, Dina Skempris, Tyler Pulsifer, Karen Monsam, Daren Miceli, Ian Pomeroy, Grey Pomeroy, Logan Matos, Lincoln Matos ; Nine great grandchildren : Austin Bukowski, Brooke Bukowski , Emma Pulsifer, Evan Pulsifer, Camden Pulsifer, Alice Monsam, Blake Monsam, Luke Gillespie and Grant Gillespie . She is also survived by her five siblings, Peter Nyberg, Paul (Teddy) Nyberg, John Nyberg, Mike Nyberg and Karen Nyberg ; as well as many nieces and nephews and her beloved animals Ruby and Zack.
She was predeceased by her two children, Richard and Donald Pulsifer.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, September 22nd between the hours of 4:00 – 7:00pm.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the New Milford Animal Welfare Society.
