Obituary of Joyce Chavarria

Danbury – Joyce (Garcia) Chavarria, age 74, of Danbury, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday December 28,2021. She was the wife of Arnold Chavarria Sr.

Joyce was born June 11, 1947 in Belize City, Belize daughter of the late Edgar and Clotilda (Flowers) Garcia. She graduated from Belize Technical College with a Bachelor's degree in Bookkeeping and was retired from Belimo after working there for over 13 years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, going to church, watching her favorite game show Family Feud and spending time with her family .

In addition to her husband Arnold, Joyce is survived by her children: Jason Chavarria of Danbury and Arnold Chavarria, Jr. of Naugatuck, her siblings: Pearl Spain of Waterbury, Lenora Garcia of Danbury, Zita Swift of Texas, Eric Garcia of Danbury and Earl Garcia of Danbury, her grandchildren: Alexaria Chavarria and Danylah Chavarria and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister: Rosita Pennill and her brother: Erasmus Garcia.

Joyce’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White St. Danbury on Thursday January 6,2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.
