Obituary of Ann Rose Zawadzki
Ann (Torebka) Zawadzki, 97, wife of the late Matthew Zawadzki died peacefully at her daughter, Alice and son in law Bill’s home in Danbury on January 31st. She lived with them for the past 6 years. Ann was born on August 26,1924 to Alexander and Rosalia (Niedzwiecka) Torebka. Brooklyn is where she lived her life. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation in Brooklyn, NY.
Ann had many talents which included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She shared these with family and friends in the way of blankets, sweaters, dresses, and more. Even though she presented with a tough outer shell, she really was kind compassionate.
Ann will be sadly missed by her four children, Richard and his wife Vivian, Matthew Jr. and his wife Theresa, Alice and her husband Bill, her daughter Anne Collins and her son-in-law James Nierer; 14 grandchildren and many grandchildren.
Ann was predeceased by her daughter Marianne Nierer.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on April 30th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church,Cottage Street, Danbury.
