Dotty was my husband Dan's cousin, I recall first meeting her when she lived in Staten Island many, many years ago. I recall her love for teaching. Christmas cards always had pictures of her children. One of the last time we were together was at her mom's funeral in New Hampshire and then at a Hussey Reunion hosted by another cousin, Betty Tygert Andersen. Love and condolences to Dotty's children and grandchildren,
Marge Hussey

RIP Mrs. Miles........she was a great teacher and a very kind person. I too would not have graduated from BHS if not for her guidance and encouragement. I never told her, but I think she knew she helped a lot of kids in other ways than just teaching.....much love to the Miles family.

Dear Dave, Jen and Family, I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a dear friend of my mom’s and by extension, someone for whom I had great affection. She had the warmest smile, a quick wit, a compassionate, caring heart and such a positive, can do attitude. I know she had a big influence on so many Brookfield students. Her legacy lives on in them and all of you! I love the idea of Dottie and Veronica reunited in heaven! Sending you heartfelt condolences and love, Bonnie Berrill Kirkpatrick & Family.

As a new teacher at Brookfield High School, I couldn't have asked for a better mentor than Dottie. She showed me how to be a better teacher in a friendly, supportive way that stuck with me through my whole teaching career and strongly influenced my own approach to mentoring new teachers. What an wonderful, inspiring person she was... a true educator.
