Obituary of Richard Bivona
Brookfield – Mr. Richard A. Bivona, age 84, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis K. (Jordanger) Bivona.
Mr. Bivona was born January 27, 1938 in New York City, New York son of the late Alfonso Bivona, Jr. and the late Edith (Greenberg) Bivona. He was retired after working for many years as a sales representative for Pfizer Corporation and was an active communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Brookfield. He served as a member and former chairman of the Brookfield Planning Commission, coached Little League baseball for many years, was active in Boy Scouts and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Bivona proudly served his country as a trained combat medic in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Mr. Bivona is survived by his children: Eric Bivona and his partner Jennifer of Norwich, VT, Lisa Bivona of Brookfield and Mark Bivona of Brookfield, his grandson: Christopher Bivona, his brother: Gary Bivona and his wife Charlene of Lake George, NY, and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Brookfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home 786 Federal Road Brookfield is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danbury chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
