Obituary of Thomas Henry Haug
Thomas Henry Haug, 63, of Bethel passed away on March 3, 2022 at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Buffalo, New York on June 28, 1958 to Katherina Vorholzer Haug, of Massachusetts and the late George Haug.
Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for many years at Barden Corp. Thomas was a history buff and enjoyed re-enacting historical events such as the Civil War and both World Wars. He loved being outdoors bird watching, fishing, kayaking, and looking for treasures with a metal detector. Other hobbies included painting miniature figurines and building dioramas. More than anything, Thomas loved being Grandpa to Nicholas and Alex.
In addition to Thomas’s mother, Katherina Vorholzer Haug, he will be sadly missed by his daughter: Stephanie Goodwin and her husband Michael of Idaho; brother: James Haug and his wife Susan of Massachusetts; grandsons: Nicholas and Alex of Washington; fiancé Rena Cyr of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday March 11, 2022 at Cornell Memorial Home beginning at 11:00am and concluding at 1:00pm with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Thomas’s memory to Wounded Warrior Project by going to support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
