Obituary of Catherine Mary Munz
Catherine M. (Schmidt) Munz, 79, of Danbury, wife of the late James Munz, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, June 7th. She was born in the Bronx, NY on December 25th 1942, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Lyden) Schmidt.
Catherine worked for Wells Fargo as a personal banker for many years before her retirement in 2006. Catherine enjoyed going to the casino, spending the winters in Florida with her husband, and summers with her family in Wildwood NJ, and Lake George NY. Some of Catherine's favorite past times were watching her favorite game shows, the Golden Girls, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, and any Alfred Hitchcock movie. Most importantly, Catherine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will sorely be missed by all who knew her.
Catherine is survived by her four children Laura Iantorno, Lisa Bilello and her husband Michael, Christina Osie, and James J. Munz and his partner Courtney Stefano; her grandchildren Michael and Leann Iantorno and Kelly Bilello; her great grandchildren Adelina Iantorno and Savanna Bellavita; her sister Madeline Weinbrenner; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Cornell Memorial Home on Sunday, June 12 from 2 to 4PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 13 at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
