Dear Doctor Comvalius, may you rest in peace… with the utmost respect for everything you achieved in your life…..
A role model in general, but a great role model for women
and especially for black women…….

In 1978, Dr. Comvalius delivered my first child. He had managed to get his cord wrapped around his neck twice, which was not apparent until his head was engaged, so Dr. Comvalius had to reach her hand inside me to free the cord to prevent the baby from strangling himself in the process of being born. He and I are both grateful.
