Obituary of Michael Moran
February 4,1925-July 21, 2022
Mike passed away after a long and good life July,21 2022 at the age of 97. He was born February 4,1925 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Michael and Jenny Moran.
He remained in Pittsburgh until enlisting in the Army during WWII as a carbine marksman cannoneer and was deployed to New Guinea and Luzon Philippines at the age of 17. Upon return, he married the love of his life, Fran and were married 75 years! They lived in Danbury and retired to Sarasota, Fl.
It was in the Army that he discovered his passion for being a drummer and continued his dream well through his 80’s where he created a 7 piece band named Mike Moran’s Bourbon St. Jazz Band in Sarasota, FL. He had many dedicated fans that loved him and his music.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Susan Malmborg (Floyd) of Newtown, Ct., and Patricia Treadwell of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Trafford (Yvonne), Kyle (Angie), Lindsey (Dan), Chip (Tanya) and two great grandchildren: Banx and Bentley. He was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife, Fran, and his son-in-law, Clyde Treadwell.
