Obituary of Joseph Jonas
On 08/02/22, Joseph Henry Jonas, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at his home in New Fairfield, CT. Joseph was born April, 23, 1930, in NYC to the late Frances and Joseph Jonas.
In 1953, he married Mary Ann DeFeo and they raised 6 children together. Joseph was a Sergeant First Class for the National Guard from 1948 to 1956.
Joseph had a long and successful career with General Electric as a computer programmer. He enjoyed gardening and loved helping his children with home repairs and projects. He loved playing cards and games with his family. We will remember Joe best for always humming a happy tune.
Joseph is preceded in death by his brother, Edward.
He is survived by his wife: Mary, his 6 children: Joseph A. Jonas, Jeffrey Jonas, Jerrold Jonas (wife, Kerry Soika), Jay Jonas (wife, Nina Werkhoven), Florence Perrino (husband, Peter Perrino) and Jonathan Jonas (wife, Gail Rodriguez) and his 9 grandchildren: Kristin, Julianne, Elisa, Christopher, Kyle, Marc, Maria, Peter and Mary and 2 great grandchildren: Amara and Blake.
