Obituary of Cyril Henry Tomascak

New Milford – Mr. Cyril Henry Tomascak, age 83, of New Milford died Thursday September 8, 2022 at Maplewood in Bethel. He was the husband of Waynne (Kaeser)Tomascak. Mr. Tomascak was born February 19, 1939 in Brookfield, son of the late Andrew and Veronica (Piskura) Tomascak. 

He retired after working 33 years with the custodial department for the Brookfield Public School system and was a member of St. Joseph Parish of Brookfield. Cyril enjoyed gardening, baking pies, cooking traditional Slovak recipes and was an avid puzzler but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.  He and Waynne enjoyed many years at their second home in Bradenton, Florida. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered for his witty sense of humor and kind heart.

In addition to his wife Waynne of 38 years, Mr. Tomascak is survived by his daughter: Kristen Cummings of Florida and his siblings: Andrew, Peter, Barbara, Cecilia, Tina, Robert, Marion and James. He was predeceased by his son: Gregory Tomascak and his siblings: Sister Isidore (Agnes), Margie, Billy, Methodius and Albert.

Cyril’s Family would also like to recognize his nephew Jamie and sister-in-law Leona Tomascak for their commitment, care, and compassion. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish in Brookfield with Fr. George F. O'Neill officiating.

Mr. Tomascak’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church prior to Mass from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Internment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in New Milford.
