Obituary of Gail Louise Lehman
Gail L Lehman, of New Fairfield, beloved wife of Ernest Lehman, died peacefully at Maplewood of Newtown on Wednesday, October 5th. She was born in Wilkes Barre, PA on August 30, 1941, daughter of the late Clarence and Arlene (Williamson) Henderson. She was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield.
Gail was a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, attaining her Masters Degree in Community Counseling. She worked at Danbury Hospital as an administrator and program director, retiring after 32 years.
Gail was an active member of the New Fairfield Community, serving on the Library Board of Trustees for 24 years and was Co-director of the New Fairfield Continuing Education Program from 1994 until 2004. She also served two terms as President of the Connecticut Counseling Association and chaired the Prince of Peace Caring Ministries Committee for 19 years.
In addition to her cherished husband of 60 years, Ernie, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Pamela Lehman and her wife, Marianne Daly; her grandchildren, Thayer G. and Matthew J. Daly Lehman; and her brother, Bruce A. Henderson and his wife, Valarie, and their children Missy and Scott. The Family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood for their tender and loving care and especially remember her special caregiver, Elizabeth.
A memorial service will take place at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on November 19 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at the Prince of Peace Cemetery
