Obituary of Betty Ann Lopes
Danbury – Mrs. Betty Ann (Cordeiro) Lopes, age 81, of Danbury passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at the Regional Hospice in Danbury. She was the loving wife of Roger F. Lopes, Sr.
Mrs. Lopes was born January 29, 1941 in Danbury daughter of the late Gaetano Cordeiro, Sr. and Elizabeth (Delgado) Cordeiro. She was retired after working for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Danbury Hospital and was a communicant of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Danbury. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boat rides on Candlewood Lake, and playing BINGO. She was an active member of the local AARP Chapter and devotedly took care of her husband.
In addition to her husband Roger, Mrs. Lopes is survived by her children: Susan Simmons and her husband Corey of Southbury, Diane Lopes of Plant City, FL and Roger Lopes, Jr. and his wife Heather of Tampa, FL, her grandchildren: Tyler, Zack and Brooke and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Ralph Benincasa, William Benincasa, and Gaetano Cordeiro, Jr.
Mrs. Lopes’ family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury on Sunday October 23, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
