Obituary of Jean Mary Jean
Waterbury – Mrs. Jean Mary (Davis) (Smith) Jean, age 81, formerly of Danbury, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on Monday January 24, 2023 after a short but long illness. She was the wife of Edmond Jean and the late Stanley C. Smith, Sr.
Mrs. Jean was born February 8, 1941 in Brewster, New York daughter of the late Henry Raymond and Helen (O’Dell) Davis. She was retired after working in customer service at Walmart for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Jean is survived by second husband Edmond Jean and her children: Brenda Smith-Silvia and her husband Edward Silvia, Jr. of Torrington, Gloria Jean Daniels and her husband Dennis of Florida, Tina Bennett of Danbury, Stacey Smith of Danbury and Edward Smith and his wife Patricia of North Carolina, her sister: Audrey Hayton of New York, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters: Cate Coleman of New Hampshire, Dana Lynn Goldman, Lorna Hallock and Tammy Smith and her son: Stanley C. Smith, Jr and her siblings: Theresa Mallen, Dottie Jacoby, Lillian Davis, and Bill Davis.
Mrs. Jean’s family would like to thank the staff at Waterbury Hospital and Wolcott Hall Nursing Home in Torrington for the outstanding care that they provided.
Mrs. Jean’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday January 27, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.
