Catherine “Cathy” Civitarese

Catherine “Cathy” Civitarese, 83, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on March 9, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1939 to Natale and Maria (Nettuno) Butera in Platania, Italy. She immigrated to the United States and resided in both Brewster, NY and Danbury, CT for many years before retiring to Jacksonville, FL in 2007.
Cathy loved to be surrounded by her family. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, shopping, and getting her hair and nails done.
She is survived by her four daughters: Maria (Dennis) Tibbits, Yolanda (Mario) Durant, Gina (Timmy) Burkhart, and Catherine (Mark) Crosier. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Dennis Jr. (Katie), Steven (Brooke), Ryan, Alexis, and Camry; and great grandchildren: Sophie, Atlas, Eddie, Cayden, Liam, Victoria and Madison. In addition, her sister-in-laws Olga Butera and Mary Butera, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Michael, John, Felix, and Antonio Butera, and her sisters, Maria Angela Perri, and Frances Cerminara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 21st at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. There are no calling hours
