Obituary of William T. Romaniello
William “Bill” Thomas Romaniello III, age 53, of Palmetto, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in a hiking accident in Utah. He was born on October 12, 1969, in Greenwich, CT. He was the son of William Jr. and Geraldine Romaniello. He graduated from New Milford High School in 1987 and from the University of Connecticut in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine.
During his career, his ability to lead and serve others was evident. He worked in a biochemical lab, dynamic testing center, rehabilitation clinics and with several sports teams as an athletic trainer. Bill was a true educator. He enjoyed teaching about injury prevention, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and emergency medicine. He was an instructor for the American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services, and the Fire Service. He loved serving as a member of the Northville Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years and worked as an EMT for Vintech in Brookfield, Connecticut, for 12 years.
After joining Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay in 2015, he was tasked with building a sports medicine program with certified athletic trainers on staff which assist with treating patients in the physician clinic, physical therapy and at local sporting events. Bill also enjoyed working in the business development of OMG, building a surgery center with physical therapy and starting new clinics.
Bill loved spending time with his family and was very proud of all his children. He stood for doing what is right, hard work, family first, and helping others. He enjoyed playing golf and cheering on the New York Yankees. Bill attended Good Life Church in Bradenton, Florida.
In addition to his loving parents, William Jr. and Geraldine (Fedele) Romaniello of Port St. Lucie, FL, Bill is survived by his wife Debbie Romaniello of Palmetto, FL; his children Delaney, Billy, and AJ Romaniello of New Milford, CT, as well as his step children Joshua (Nicki) Clark of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Hailey Clark of Bradenton, FL, and one step granddaughter Natalie Clark; his brother Jerry (Tiffany) Romaniello of New Milford, CT and two nieces Brooklynn and Piper, Aunt Connie Fedele of Trade, TN, and Uncle Frank Ferretti Sr. of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his infant son James Romaniello.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, March 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Graveside services and burial in Center Cemetery, New Milford will be on Saturday, April 1st at 11 a.m.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, March 27th, at 6 p.m. at Bayside Community Church North River Campus, 9505 Moccasin Wallow Road, Parrish, FL 34219. Arrangements are by Brown and Sons Funeral Home in Bradenton, FL.
