Mr. Palmer was born June 19, 1938, in Warren, Ohio, son of the late George L. and Marjorie (Snyder) Palmer. He was a mechanical engineer and he worked for Allied Chemical, Berol Corporation, New England Graphics, Uniroyal, Sikorsky Aircraft, Dow United Technologies, and Hamar Laser. He enjoyed playing tennis, softball, bridge, and bowling, managing to achieve the rank of Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League, and being inducted into the USBC Fairfield County Hall of Fame for bowling. Throughout his coaching over the years, he received numerous awards. Also an avid sports fan, he religiously followed the UConn Huskies and was a diehard fan of the New York Mets & Jets.
