Obituary of David Berry Flynn

David B. Flynn, 81, of Danbury, beloved husband of Patricia (Golden) Flynn, died peacefully at Bethel Healthcare on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born in Greenwich on October 31, 1941, son of the late Thomas J. and Catherine (McCann) Flynn.

David served our country with the United States Army National Guard from 1963- 1969. His service continued in his career as a firefighter for the Town of Greenwich for 24 years and was a member of the Greenwich Professional Firefighters Local 1042. David was also an Emergency Medical Technician for many years.

Whether he was swimming or fishing, David enjoyed spending time at the beach and was a commercial lobsterman for years. He also enjoyed working on cars, landscaping, gardening and loved dogs.

In addition to his cherished wife of 54 years, Patricia, he will be missed by his children, Robert M. Flynn and his wife, Samantha, and Catherine Flynn Mikolajczak and her husband, Donald; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Madison Mikolajczak, William and Mackenzie Flynn. He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence C. Flynn; and his sisters, Elizabeth Shopovick and Diane Justice; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Armand T. Flynn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield on Saturday, June 10th at 9:30am.

The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, June 9th between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00pm.
