I’ve known Joe through mutual friends since about middle school. Danbury is a pretty tight knit community where everyone knows everyone, so anytime the community suffers a loss, it affects everyone. My prayers are with his friends and family at this difficult time.

I met Joseph 10 years ago on a cold December night. His friends had heard there was a party being held at a large residence in New Fairfield, Ct. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong house. They ended up at my friend's home where she was alone. She called me frantically asking me to come over and help her kick out these strangers. I went along with a few friends and that was when I met Joseph or Joe Hollywood (as he used to introduce himself).
He was in a group of maybe 10 or more people and with his natural charisma and charm he convinced my friend to let them stay and hangout. Music was turned on, a game of beer pong started in the dining room, and we had ourselves a small party. Towards the end of the night around 3:00 am I decided to leave being one of the very few people who was completely sober (Joseph being the other sober person) and I asked him if he needed a ride home since his friends were very wasted. He accepted and as we drove to his home on Middle River Road in Danbury, we got to know one another. He loved the old rock music I had blasting through my car speakers and told me about his love of music and how his beautiful mother Joanne would listen to these bands throughout his childhood. He spoke of his likes and dislikes, his favorite shows (the best being SpongeBob of course!) and how he had gotten into modeling. As we pulled up to his home, he invited me in, as I had commented I would probably stop for coffee before heading to my apartment, he graciously asked if he could make me a cup of coffee as he did not want to end our conversation. Sluggishly I agreed and stayed until the wee hours of the morning chatting in his kitchen conversating about life, our dreams, and the future. From then on, we were inseparable. I had never met a person like Joe. He was passionate, confident, considerate, honest and extremely charming. He was the easiest person I had ever talked to. When he walked into a room all eyes were on him, he was that magnetic of a person. He was a great friend and musically, he was a genius. He was also my first love. To hear of his death was the greatest heartbreak I could have ever known. He was a ball of light that came into our lives. Although his flame was extinguished too soon, and although our hearts have broken into a million pieces, I am at peace knowing he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Joseph, you were so incredibly loved.
I end this memory with this quote,
"I'll be seeing you in every lovely summers day. In everything that's light, I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you in the morning sun, and when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you."- Billie Holiday

Joey
This book isn’t big enough for me to write all the loving memories I have of you since the day I baptized you.
You are so special to me and always will be. I miss you so much but I’m sure we will meet again, until then,
I love you
Love, aunt Laura
