Obituary of James J. Hall
Brookfield – Mr. James Joseph Hall, age 79, of Brookfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was the cherished husband of Anne Dorothea (Curren) Hall.
James was born into a large, boisterous Irish Catholic family on April 11, 1944 in New Rochelle, NY, son of the late Joseph and Jane (Milligan) Hall. He was retired after working for many years as an electrician and owner of Hall Electric in New Rochelle, NY. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially his wife, his children, their spouses and his grandkids. He was a lifelong golfer who could hit a 300-yard drive well into his late 70s. But, as he often said, you “drive for show and putt for dough.” He delighted everyone he met with his larger-than-life personality and his funny sayings. If he called you a “hoople,” you knew you were one of his favorite people.
In addition to his wife Anne, James is survived by his children: James J. Hall, Jr., his wife Sue and their sons Christopher and Nicholas of Madison, CT; Peter W. Hall, his wife Heather and their daughter Meadow of New Milford, CT; Eugene G. Hall, his wife Becky and daughters Summer and Noelle of Brookfield, CT; and Christina Hall Davis, her husband Robert C. and their children Robert J. and Anne of Ashford, CT. He is also survived by his siblings: Joseph Hall and wife Joanne; Theresa Hall Dunkel and husband George; Francis Hall; and Thomas Hall and wife Jean; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Robert Hall, Roger Hall, Jane Anne Hall Maitland and Michael Hall. James loved his brothers and sisters dearly.
