Obituary of Debra A. Sheehan
Debra Ann Sheehan, 67, of Brookfield, passed away on June 19th, 2023, after a fourteen year battle with brain cancer and radiation induced dementia. Our family is grateful to know that Debbie is finally at peace.
Debbie was born in Norwalk on November 13, 1955, daughter of the late Edward and Carolee Sheehan. She was a 1973 graduate of Norwalk High School. She made her home in Brookfield in 1975.
Debbie was an accomplished runner and athlete. She enjoyed her job working with students at Huckleberry Hill and Whisconier schools in Brookfield. Debbie loved all holidays, especially Christmas. She made each holiday and birthday special with many memorable decorations. Debbie adored children, especially her grandchildren, and her family pets.
Debbie is survived by her partner of 48 years, Edward Butt; their children, Danielle, Karianne, Heather, Edward; her stepdaughter Nicole, and their families, including five grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda, Lisa, Kevan, and their families, as well as many cousins.
We are grateful to the nurses and staff at Village Crest Center for Health and Rehabilitation in New Milford, who lovingly and skillfully cared for Debbie for the last three and a half years. We also acknowledge Dr. Michael Cohenuram for his exceptional care as Debbie’s oncologist at Danbury Hospital for the first 8 years of her illness, as well as his supporting staff.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday July 19 from Noon till 3PM at Michael’s Tap Room, in Bethel. All are welcome.
