College friendships last long in memory even if life separates us over many years. This was so with Brian and me. We met as sophomores, and quickly became friends, palling around together and hanging out with other dorm mates. Hanging out together. This was the best of it. Brian was a good storyteller, mostly about his family and growing up in Boston. Coming from the Midwest, I thought Boston must be a magical place. Brian was also a good story listener. So naturally I made up a lot of stuff to keep him entertained. We shared a townhouse in Georgetown one summer with three other friends. I cooked. Ira and Harry cleaned. Brian made up stories. My wife and I have been married for 54 years. Brian introduced us. Unfortunately, life pulled us in different directions. We saw each other only a few times in the nearly sixty years since we first met. We didn’t add many memories since scattering after college, but those we had together, and the love, have lasted a lifetime. Farewell, Brian.

My deepest condolences. I will always cherish the time getting to know Brian when he ran for Treasurer in 2007.
Here's a picture I shot of Brian on the night the Democratic Party in Danbury endorsed his candidacy for Treasurer.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I knew this day would come and I have dreaded it. Brian was like a father to me. Sometimes more than my own father. He employed me, he taught me how to be a paralegal, he put me through college, he supported me in so many ways. I enjoyed the good old days with Ellen, babysitting Sean, driving Brian to Manhattan (scary in your early 20's!!), etc. The memories are countless. He will never be forgotten and will always be cherished. Love to you all. ❤

Elizabeth, Sean and family very sorry to hear of Brian's passing. He and I worked together for many years in Danbury State's Attorney's office. He was a great friend and a mentor to me. We also spent many great days on the golf course, though he wasn't a great golfer he loved the sport and did not take his bad shots seriously. The best part was a couple of beers afterward. I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace and I will keep you in my prayers.
