Obituary of Carol Cecelia Thomas
Carol Cecelia (Smith) Thomas, lifetime resident of Gaylordsville then New Milford CT, died on 15 August 2023 at Danbury Hospital.
She was predeceased by her parents Elwin and Virginia (Hastings) Smith of Gaylordsville CT.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Thomas, three sisters: Deb Smith of San Jose CA, Marcia Jennings of New Milford CT and Joann McDeed of Merrimack NH and one brother, Douglas Smith of Silver City NM. Carol is also survived by: an uncle, Michael Hastings of Santa Clara CA, a niece, Erin McDeed of Merrimack NH, a nephew Patrick McDeed of Merrimack NH, a nephew Bryan Smith of Danville VT and many cousins living in several states.
Over the years, Carol worked at Arrowhead Enterprises, Harmon Publishing and Ethan Allen. In later years, she was on Social Security Disability.
In Carol’s earlier days, she enjoyed traveling near and far and getting out to fairs, festivals and events like the New Milford Fire Dept chicken barbecues! She was active for several years at her local Methodist church. She loved cats, making and admiring arts and crafts, lighthouses, all things NASA and a good science fiction story.
Private services will be held at a later date.
