Obituary of Caterina Fata
Caterina (Acampora) Fata, 90, of Brookfield, beloved wife of the late Frank G. Fata, died peacefully on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023. She was born in Agerola, Italy on April 17, 1933, daughter of Ciro and Maria (Fusco) Acampora.
Caterina emigrated to the United States in 1963 and resided in the Bronx until her marriage in 1966 when they moved to Lynbrook, NY to start their family. In 2004 she moved to Arizona to be close to her son Mario and grandson Anthony. She then left Arizona in 2013 and moved to Conneticut to be with her son Frank and his family.
Caterina was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She had many nieces and nephews which she adored and they adored her as well. Caterina was known to be a great cook, baker and loved flowers and gardening as well.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Frank P. Fata, his wife Olimpia and Mario D. Fata and his wife Sandra and her grandchildren, Anthony Garcia-Fata, Francesco and Anastasia Fata. She is survived by her brother Luigi Acampora and sisters, Carmela Naclerio and Anna Milo as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Sunday, September 10th between the hours of 2:00 – 5:00pm.
