Obituary of Judith Ann Butera
New Fairfield – Judith Ann (Dunn) Butera, age 87, of New Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at Maplewood of Danbury. She was the widow of Rosario Butera.
Mrs. Butera was born June 22, 1936 in Bridgeport daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Kenny) Dunn. She was retired after working as a Paraprofessional at Consolidated School in New Fairfield for many years and was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church in New Fairfield. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially shopping and dining out. She was an avid crossword puzzler. In her later years she discovered a love for flowers and planting. She would sit out on her back deck for hours talking to her neighbors, watching the deer and turkeys, and marveling at the flowers in her planters.
Mrs. Butera is survived by her son: Richard Butera of San Diego, CA, her daughter: Karen Hunter and her husband William of New Fairfield, her grandchildren: Kevin Hunter and his wife Laura, Ryan Hunter and his wife Quinn and Katie Hunter, her great grandchildren: Noah and Sophie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister: Sally Patane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in New Fairfield. There are no calling hours.
