Obituary of Louise Azzopardi
Southbury, CT - Mrs. Louise (Peluso) Azzopardi, age 93, of Southbury, formerly of Brookfield, CT passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday October 9, 2023 at her home in the Watermark at East Hill in Southbury. She was the widow of Charles Azzopardi.
Louise was born April 18, 1930 in New York. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Marinaro) Peluso. She retired after working in the Admissions department of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City for over 25 years. Louise loved many things in life, but most of all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts of all kinds including ceramics, painting, and making scarfs. Louise also had an amazing love of seafood, especially steamed crabs. Oh, how she loved her crabs. Louise had such an amazing sense of humor and loved to make all around her laugh in her own special way.
Louise Azzopardi is survived by her children: Luann Puglia and her husband Anthony of Brookfield; and Robert Azzopardi and his wife Kathleen Dyer of Huntersville, NC. She loved her grandchildren: Lauren, Emma, Mirielle, Kinneely, Christian, Kellan, Aislinn, and Dustin. She is also survived by her brother, Ciro Peluso and his wife Janet of New City, NY. She was predeceased by her granddaughter: Sheridan Azzopardi and her brother: Nicholas Peluso.
Mrs. Azzopardi’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday October 15, 2023 at Brookfield Funeral Home 786 Federal Road Brookfield from 3-6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 16, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Brookfield.
