Obituary of Ralph Porto

Ralph Porto, 85, of Brookfield, CT, passed away on November 9, 2023 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. George F. O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Visitation will be held at Brookfield Funeral Home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Ralph Porto was born in Calabria, Italy to Giuseppe Porto and Rosina Caputo on January 24, 1938. Ralph immigrated to Canada before settling in New York where he dedicated 29 years to his career at the New York Botanical Gardens, rising to his role as supervising maintainer. In his retirement, Ralph most enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing card games, and spending time with his loved ones. Ralph is survived by his wife, Gina, his children, Joseph and Rosemary along with their spouses Christi and Giulio, his grandchildren, Jenna, Biagio, Breanna and Victoria, his step-grandchild Miranda, and his great grandchildren, Thea and Atlas.
