Obituary of Gerhard Brunner
Gerhard (Jerry) Brunner, of Danbury, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Maplewood of Danbury, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Gerhard was born on January 22, 1937, to the late Willy and Bertha Brunner (Voegtlin) in Loerrach, and grew up in Weil am Rhein Germany.
He is survived by one brother Heinz and his wife Waltraud of Bradenton, Florida. One sister Lilo Pap-Nemes of Danbury. One niece, Gabriele Orbanic and her husband Shawn and their three children, Gregory Pap-Nemes and his daughter, nephew Frank Brunner and his two sons as well as several cousins in Germany.
Gerhard, his mother and sister immigrated to the US in March 1957. He worked as an Engineer for Helicoil Corp. until his retirement. He served in the US Army from 1961-1963. Gerhard enjoyed playing soccer, bowling and most of all golfing, he also liked to listen to good music.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Maplewood of Danbury for the care they provided.
There will be no calling hours. A private Memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
