Obituary of Maddy Weinbrenner
Ann Weinbrenner (Maddy), age 85, of New Fairfield passed away peacefully on Sunday December 17, surrounded by her daughters and family.
Maddy was born June 23, 1938 in the Claremont area of the Bronx to Joseph and Anna Schmidt. She had one older brother Joseph Schmidt and two younger sisters Margie Tracy and Kathleen Munz who predeceased her.
She came from humble beginnings growing up during the World War II era. Her teenage years were spent going to High School dances where she was known to be quite the dancer. At age eighteen she got married and started her family. Maddy worked for the Telephone company as an operator and was a receptionist at a tennis club in Riverdale, NY. for many years.
She retired to New Fairfield, CT living with her daughter Jeanmarie and family.
While in New Fairfield Maddy was loved by so many people and she touched so many lives. She was affectionately known as Grandma Maddy to all the close people that knew her in town. She was also known for her spunky funny personality. Maddy also had an artistic ability and loved to paint and make jewelry.
She was a member of the New Fairfield Senior Center where she spent many hours participating in events held at the Center. She was particularly fond of playing poker and hotdog bingo. She made many good friends at the Center.
Most of all, Maddy enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren enjoying special occasions and playing games and cards.
Maddy is survived by her 3 daughters, Terry (Wolf) Reimann of Atlanta, Ga. Linda (Kevin) Horan of Irvington, NY and Jeanmarie (Steve) Farrell of New Fairfield, CT and 6 grandchildren Melinda (Ryan) Browneagle, of Dublin, Ohio Christopher (Heather) Reimann of Atlanta, Ga, Kenneth Horan (Alana) of Bronx, NY, Robert Reimann of Atlanta, Ga, Steven Farrell of Alexandria, VA, Emily Farrell of Newburyport, MA. And seven great-grandchildren Bellamy, Danny, Jack, Henry, Violet, Iris and Elijah. And many nieces and nephews.
