Obituary of Riccardo Bonapace
Riccardo Bonapace, 100, died on January 25th, 2024. He was born on November 12, 1923 in Pinzolo, Italy, son of the late Vigilio and Perpetua (Righi) Bonapace. He was predeceased by his loving wife of close to 75 years, Maria (Ambrosi) Bonapace.
An avid outdoorsman, Riccardo loved to hunt, fresh water fish, and mushroom forage in his beloved mountains, the Italian Alps. He was a diehard Yankee fan who loved spending countless weekends supporting and cheering on his grandchildren. He was a proud owner of Alpine Cutlery, a business he built in the area with his sons-in-law and nephews. Riccardo was a loyal family man and very proud of his Italian heritage. In retirement, he would return to Italy each summer.
Riccardo is survived by his children Anna Bonapace, Ines Graziosa, and Catherine Ambrosi; his grandchildren James Graziosa (Jean Carrelli), Michelle Graziosa (Orazio Martorina), Dominic Ambrosi (Cheryl), and Julia Ambrosi; and his great grandchildren Thomas, Giorgia, Joseph, Julia, and Luca.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys on Saturday, January 27th at 9:30AM. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Regional Hospice @ www.regionalhospicect.org, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury Ct 06810, who take great care of him during his last days.
