Obituary of Janet Scribner
Janet Irene Kaiser Scribner, 90, of Danbury passed away peacefully. She was the widow of the late Arthur I. Scribner. Born in Danbury, CT, she was a daughter of the late Marianna (Marion) Becker Kaiser and Albert Kaiser.
She was raised in Brookfield, attended the former Consolidated School and graduated from Danbury High School. Previously an active member of The Congregational Church of Brookfield and The Newbury Congregational Church in Brookfield. In addition to being a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother & great -grandmother, her family was her life & will be her legacy. She was employed by Dr. Fred Izzo and Bird Imported Motors in Danbury, retiring to Safety Harbor FL.
Predeceased by husband, parents, her sister, Charlotte Hendrix of Gaylordsville, and one of her stepdaughters, Leigh Ann Scribner Hegarty of Cape Carteret, NC.
She leaves her daughter, Karen A. Malumphy of Pleasant Hill, CA, two sons, Roger M. (Barbara) Malumphy of Bridgewater, David M. (Pat) Malumphy of New Milford, three step-daughters Robin L. Marquis of Alpharetta, GA, Gay E. (Michael) O'Hanlon of Milton, MA, Tracey A. (Robert) Colonair of Watertown, CT, and one step-son, David A. (Pamela) Scribner of Brookfield, CT, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren & many nieces & nephews
A funeral service will be conducted at the Bridgewater Congregational Church, Saturday, 03/09/24 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Abby Gackenheimer officiating.
Floral tributes may be sent directly to the church in Bridgewater, 10 Clapboard Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
