Obituary of Barbara Ann Walker
Barbara A. Walker, of Brookfield, beloved wife of James J. Walker, died at Regional Hospice on Thursday, March 7th. She was born in the Bronx, NY on January 18, 1937, daughter of the late Frederick and Charlotte (Drain) Weismiller.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for her family, especially her husband, providing the care he needed in his illness.
She raised her children in Brookfield and then moved to different states relocating with her husband for his job. She enjoyed exploring each area and meeting new people. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her cherished husband of 66 years, James, she will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Barbara Langley, Elizabeth Steel (James), and Deborah Hauptman (Eric); her grandchildren, Christopher Martin, Jamie and Alex Steel, Douglas Langley, Hannah Hauptman and Sarah Hauptman; three great grandchildren, Grace, Baur, and Wren; and her brother, Frederick Weismiller (Carol). She is also survived by her loving dog, Betsy.
Barbara’s family will celebrate her life privately. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
