Obituary of Terence G. Henry
Terence Gerard Henry, 62, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on April 4th, 2024.
Terence, “Terry”, was born in Manhattan, New York, on August 2nd 1961 to Kathleen and Terence Henry. Terry was one of eleven children and grew up in Tappan, New York. He spoke fondly of spending the summers of his youth at Idlewild swim club, playing and growing in the sun. The Henry children include Kathleen (deceased), Dennis, Theresa, Christopher, Geralin, Patrick (deceased) Ann, Marykay, Mariel (deceased), and Louise. Terry attended Western Connecticut State University where he studied Marketing and earned his bachelor’s degree. Terry worked in the security industry and as a charismatic bartender for the majority of his professional career.
Terry is survived by his wife, Suzanne Henry, his biological children Timothy and Matthew, his stepchildren Danielle and Andrew, and his beloved dogs Merle and Dixie.
Terry is known by all of his siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends by “TG.”
He was a lover of country music, the Mets, cooking incredible dinners, playing in his local softball league, vacationing down South and taking walks on the beach in the morning, and writing poetry.
Terry’s wake will be held at Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on White Street in Danbury, Connecticut, on Sunday, April 7th. Viewing hours will be between 4pm-7pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 8th at St. Joseph’s church on Main Street in Danbury, Connecticut at 10am. Burial procession will immediately follow and be held at Gate’s of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, New York. Reception for celebration of life will be held at Portofino’s in Bethel, Connecticut, beginning at 2:30pm.
