Elaine Munding, 64, of Bowers Hill Rd, Oxford, died at St Raphael's hospital in New Haven, CT on Sunday, March 11. She was born on November 3, 1942 in Buffalo NY, Daughter of Donald Munding and the late Helen (Pettifer) Munding.
She lived two rewarding lives. First as a housewife and mother. And second, as a paralegal in international corporate trademark law. She worked for Time Inc. in NYC and Cadbury Schweppes Plc in Stamford CT. She managed the corporate trademark department in Bourneville, England, sat on the board for the Marques Association for European attorneys and was a member of the International Trademark Association before retiring. She moved home and became a consultant to Time Inc, Warner Bros., GE, and Cadbury Schweppes.
She had a gift for making friends, for making music and was an accomplished pianist and guitar player.
In addition to her father, Elaine is survived by a daughter, Susan Scully and her husband, Matthew with whom she made her home; and a son, Gregory Lane and his wife Jennifer of Stormville, NY; 6 grandchildren: Connor, Madeline and Ryan Scully; and Sara Meghan and Zachary Lane; and a very loving extended family in upstate New York. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, CT. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the spring. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Elaine's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Susan Scully, or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 500 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
