Thomas W. Eaker
March 12, 1937 - March 26, 2009
Thomas W. Eaker, age 72, of Bristol Path, Brookfield, devoted husband of Donna (Cape) Eaker, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, March 26th. He was born in St. Louis, MO on March 12, 1937, son of the late Clifford W. and Berniece (Housewright) Eaker. Mr. Eaker was an electrical engineer for General Telephone and Electronic Corporation.
Mr. Eaker was an active member and current Moderator of the Congregational Church of Brookfield. He was a faith-filled man who loved to support his church in any capacity necessary. He was a member of the bell choir, and longtime Sunday school teacher who influenced many of the church youth. His hobbies included coin collecting, classical music, and working with electronics.
Most importantly, Mr. Eaker was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who was happiest when spending time with his family.
In addition to his cherished wife of nearly 51 years, Donna, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Ronald S. Eaker and his wife, Diane of Redding, David C. Eaker and his wife, Theresa of Cross River, NY; his daughter, Kay A. Marron and her husband, Michael of Brookfield; and his eight beloved grandchildren, Kelly, Shannon, Patrick, Lauren, and Camryn Eaker, Kathryn, Carolyn, and Colleen Marron. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Hodge and her husband, Gene of Rolla, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Eaker. Funeral Information
Memorial Services will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield on Wednesday, April 1st at 6:30pm.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Sunday, March 29th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
