I remember when Steve, as a random act of his good nature and generosity chartered a bus (and not a school bus either, but an nice air-conditioned bus) and took all the kids who wanted to go, which was essentially every kid in the neighborhood, to Yankee Stadium. No special occasion, no hoopla, no big announcement, no speeches, just a long bus ride, and a reserved seat for anyone interested. To a kid, a dream come true. That was so cool. Rest in peace, Steve!
