Stephen C. Faynor

Stephen C. Faynor, age 73, of Danbury, devoted husband of Shirley (Rossini) Faynor, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, April 24th. He was born in Danbury on December 22, 1935, son of the late Stephen and Theresa (Hammer) Faynor. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1953 and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury.
Steve, with Shirley by his side, owned and operated Faynor Varity on Germantown Road, in Danbury. The family atmosphere of the store made many good memories and life long friendships. Steve went on to operate Faynor Foodliner in Monroe for more than 20 years. He later worked in machine maintenance for Best Foods in Greenwich. He was a member of the Sokol Lodge in Danbury and was a past member of the Danbury Exchange Club. In the 1970's he ran for City Councilman under the Republican Party.
Steve enjoyed working with his hands, especially woodworking and machine repair.
In addition to his beloved wife of 49 years, Shirley, he will be sadly missed by his son, Stephen J. Faynor of Danbury; his daughters, Jacqueline Infurchia and her husband Chris of Seymor, and Marlene Lane and her husband, Bill of Port St. Lucie, FL; his five grandchildren, Mikaela Faynor, Anthony Infurchia, Sydney, Mackenzie and Howard Lane. He is also survived by his sister, Melinda Scharstein of Vancouver, WA; and his niece Kimberly Scharstein of Oregon. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:30pm. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
