Obituary of Sharon May Piech
Sharon May Piech, 39, of Danbury, died April 18, 2021. She was born January 21, 1982, in New Milford, to Alexander and Maureen (Hutter) Piech.
Sharon graduated Danbury High School in 2000. She continued her education at Western Connecticut State University and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Many people will remember Sharon from her many years working in the Danbury Tax Office where she was recently promoted to Tax Coordinator. While working at City Hall, Sharon was well liked and made many close friends.
Sharon enjoyed cruise ship adventures, trips to the casinos, and most recently discovered the joy of “glamping”. Sharon also loved to spoil any dog that she came across, especially Bailey and Jewels.
Sharon is survived by her loving parents, Alexander F. Piech and Maureen (Hutter) Piech Danbury; siblings Patricia Smith and husband Edward, NC., Alexander F. Piech Jr and wife Diane, Naugatuck., Dawn Rubertiello, MA. William Piech, SC., Darrin Rubertiello, Danbury., and John Piech, Danbury. As well as many nieces and nephews. Sharon will also be missed by many friends and coworkers. To her family and close friends she will be remembered as “Sharon the Princess”.
She was preceded in death by brothers Steven Piech, Walter Piech and nephew Nicolas Bartone.
Calling hours for Sharon will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 4-7pm at Cornell Funeral Home, 247 White St. Danbury. Social distancing and masks are required. Graveside service will be held Friday, April 23 at 10am at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
