Obituary of Martin Joseph Sprock, Jr.
Martin J. Sprock, Jr., age 82, of Danbury passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on June 17, 2021.
Martin was born August 29, 1938 in Yonkers, New York, son of the late Martin Joseph and Olive (Rose) Sprock. He retired as an engineer after 30 years from N.Y. Telephone Company. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Hat City Carvers at the Danbury Senior Center. He also enjoyed playing the ukulele with the Embraceable Ukes Group.
Mr. Sprock honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force and was incredibly proud to see three of his grandsons serving in the United States Coast Guard.
In addition to his loving wife Carol of 53 years, Martin is survived by his children; Sue Ellen (Sprock) Landwehr and her husband Ted of Bethel, CT, Justin Martin Sprock and his wife Marie of Fishkill, NY and Eric Martin Sprock and his wife Kristin of Bethel, CT, his grandchildren: T.J. and his wife Casey, Garrett, Abigail, Hunter and his wife Katie, Logan and Nathan, great-grandson Ryder and a sister, Karen Sprock of Yonkers, NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. There will be a 11 a.m. service at Cornell, followed a burial with full military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ridgefield.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Kloss and staff of the Praxair Cancer Center, the 11th Floor staff at Danbury Hospital and the staff of Regional Hospice for their extraordinary care.
