Obituary of Donna Marie DeFreitas
Donna DeFreitas, age 61, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024 at Regional Hospice from stage iv cancer.
Donna died peacefully, surrounded by her family. Donna will be missed dearly by her husband, daughters, parents, siblings, niece, family, friends, and her dog, Hope.
Donna will be remembered for her smile, laugh, strength, inspiration, support, and selflessness. She touched so many souls throughout her life. Even through her own battle with cancer, she was a beacon of hope for her fellow cancer survivors; encouraging others to enjoy the little things in life and look for the silver lining in every situation.
Donna loved watching birds, being at the beach, enjoying nature, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed watching Sunday football, women’s basketball, and family traditions of watching Charlie Brown and Snoopy every holiday.
Services will be held Wednesday May 1.
9:00 am - 11:00 am - Wake at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd, Brookfield, CT.
11:30 am - Mass of Christian Burial at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Rd, Brookfield, CT; followed by burial at Central Cemetery, 490 Federal Road, Brookfield, Connecticut

Ann's Place provides comfort, support, and resources to people living with cancer and their loved ones. Donna and her family have relied on their services and support through her battle with cancer. Donna generously offered support and inspiration to the Ann's Place community. She credited the support she received at Ann’s Place for the strength and hope she upheld through her journey.
